Traditional rulers and chiefs under the highly revered Eziogu Supreme Council of Chiefs have declared their total support for the 2027 senatorial ambition of Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro.
Led by the Ozumi of Okene, His Highness Haruna Onotu, the monarchs called on all sons and daughters of Kogi Central to stand behind Chief Obaro, whom they described as a symbol of unity, capacity, and credibility.
The traditional rulers from Okehi, Ajaokuta, Adavi, and Okene unanimously endorsed the long-advocated senatorial shift to Old Okehi in 2027, citing equity, fairness, and justice. They specifically identified Eika District in Okehi LGA as the rightful zone to produce the next senator.
According to the council, the political atmosphere is now set for a positive turnaround with the emergence of Chief Obaro, who enjoys overwhelming acceptance across the five local government areas under the Eziogu bloc. The unanimous endorsement was sealed at a gathering held in Okene.
Speaking at the event, the host, His Highness Haruna Onotu (Ozumi of Okene), commended the traditional rulers for their unity of purpose and reaffirmed the council’s unwavering commitment to the Obaro 2027 project.
In his remarks, HRH Kabiru Okiri (Ohi Apete of Ogu) and Ohi Abara Acha, Alh. Engr. Sule Otu, expressed deep appreciation to the hosting traditional rulers. They emphasized that the time is ripe to consolidate support across all clans to ensure a smooth and successful senatorial bid for Chief Obaro.

This development aligns with an earlier resolution by youth groups across Kogi Central, who had pledged to support a candidate with proven integrity, competence, and a unifying spirit—qualities they believe Chief Obaro embodies.
With traditional rulers, youths, and key community stakeholders now aligned, momentum continues to build ahead of the 2027 race.
