We Appreciate Natasha’s Little Effort, But Feel the Failure More – Kogi Central Deserves Better in 2027

In all fairness, we acknowledge the little efforts of Senator Natasha, particularly the houses reportedly built for her aides and the recently commissioned hospital. These are commendable gestures, even though the full details remain unclear. As with many of her projects, there always seem to be unanswered questions or incomplete information. We’ve also seen repeated public agitations regarding her so called “mega empowerments,” which were later criticised as mere photo-ops, with items allegedly never reaching intended beneficiaries.

While we appreciate these few impacts, we must clearly state unequivocally, echoing the voice of the majority in Kogi Central Senatorial District, that we will not be voting for Senator Natasha in 2027.

Representation at the National Assembly demands far more than elegance, eloquence, or media theatrics. By these standards, she has failed us. Her unruly altercation with the Senate President, which resulted in a six month suspension, silenced the entire Kogi Central from national legislative discourse. Six months of representation lost can never be recovered, months that should have been spent advancing the development and interests of our constituency and the nation.

Her unproven allegations, still hanging without substantiation, have further dragged the name of Kogi Central into needless controversy. This pattern of making unverified claims has brought disrepute to our people. For this reason, we must vote her out to show Nigerians that we reject unpatriotic and unconstitutional conduct that violates the Senate’s rules and embarrasses our constituency.

Senator Abubakar Ohere’s brief but impactful service before the court judgment that removed him still remains an example of the quality of representation we expected and voted for.

Now, another opportunity is before us comes 2027 to choose a leader who will deliver meaningful, intellectual, and responsible representation.

In 2027, we shall elect a candidate who understands the Senate rules, respects the institution, and will not subject Kogi Central to national embarrassment.
