A decade after the death of Prince Abubakar Audu, former governor and one of the most influential political figures in Kogi State’s history, QS Aminu A. Suleiman has paid glowing tribute to the late leader, describing him as the defining architect of modern Kogi East.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Suleiman said Prince Audu’s legacy remains deeply embedded in the identity of the Igala nation and continues to guide ongoing conversations about development, fairness, and leadership in Kogi East.
According to him, Audu stood out for his clarity of purpose and disciplined approach to governance, building institutions and infrastructure that expanded opportunity and restored dignity to public service. He noted that Audu’s work became a model for what focused and people-centred leadership can achieve.
Suleiman added that despite the passage of time, the former governor’s influence has not diminished. Ten years on, his legacy stands unshaken. He remains a reference point for unity, merit, service, and visionary leadership, he said.
He joined the Audu family and the wider Kogi community in marking the anniversary, calling on present and future leaders to emulate the values Prince Audu represented. His life reminds us that leadership is not about holding power but about shaping destinies and inspiring hope, he said.
Suleiman prayed for the continued repose of the late statesman and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the ideals Audu championed.
QS Aminu A. Suleiman is a frontline aspirant for the Kogi East Senatorial seat in the 2027 elections.
