Member representing Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Ozigi Muhammed Tijani (TAO), has restored electricity to two communities, Ageva and Idoma, through the installation of new transformers.
The two communities had been in total darkness for several months following the breakdown of their old transformers.
According to a statement issued by his Personal Assistant, Godwin Orahachi, upon receiving the report, Hon. Ozigi, who also serves as the Vice Chairman, House Committee on Rural Electrification Agency (REA), immediately took action by facilitating the installation of brand-new transformers to restore power supply to the affected areas.
“Unlike some political interventions often described as donations, Hon. Ozigi ensured that the transformers were properly installed and made operational. Before installation, he directed the engineers to identify and rectify the faults that led to the previous transformer failure. This precaution, according to him, was necessary to ensure the new transformers would last longer and serve the communities effectively,” Orahachi said.
Residents of both Ageva and Idoma expressed their profound appreciation for the timely intervention. In separate gatherings, the people offered prayers and words of gratitude to the lawmaker, commending his responsiveness and fulfillment of campaign promises.
Community members also reaffirmed their loyalty and support, pledging not to disappoint the lawmaker who, according to them, has consistently lived up to his words. They prayed that Hon. Ozigi “will never witness darkness in his life, just as he brought them out of darkness.”
During the installation, some residents also seized the opportunity to remind the legislator about areas yet to benefit from his ongoing streetlight installation project. His DG Campaign, Hon Yakini Ondemi expressed confidence that those places would soon receive attention, given his track record of prompt response to community needs.
Hon. TAO’s intervention underscores his commitment to grassroots development, particularly in the area of rural electrification, aligning with his legislative focus on improving access to electricity in underserved communities across the constituency.
With the successful installation of the new transformers, Ageva and Idoma communities have now been reconnected to the national grid, bringing relief to residents and restoring normalcy to both social and economic activities.
