Troops of the Nigerian Army have neutralised a wanted terrorist kingpin, Kachalla Maidawa, and 35 other insurgents.
A credible source at the Army Headquarters informed that the major breakthroughs were recorded across the six geopolitical zones.
The source said Kachalla Maidawa who has been on the wanted list of security forces was killed in Kogi State during a joint military operation.
According to the source, troops also apprehended 32 criminal suspects, rescued 22 kidnapped victims, and recovered large quantities of arms, ammunition, and logistics supplies.
He said troops of Operation Egwu Eke Atite III, in collaboration with the Nigerian Navy, DSS, Police, and Hybrid Forces, foiled a planned terrorist attack on communities in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Maidawa, he said, had been responsible for a series of violent raids across Kogi and parts of Kwara State.
