The Acting National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Dr. Sadiq Umar Abubakar Gombe, has expressed condolence to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, on behalf of the National Working Committee (NWC) and the entire members of the party nationwide, on the passing of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo.
In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, the party said considering the array of tributes that have been penned, celebrating the glorious life and times of the deceased elder statesman and community leader, the SDP noted that the enviable noble virtues of uncommon humility and humane disposition of the governor are a function of the good nature implanted in him by his late father.
“The party shares in the grief of the governor and the Ododo dynasty during this difficult period.
“There is no denying the fact that the death of his father means loss of a major pillar of support to the governor at this critical juncture of his life, that he is saddled with the arduous task of leading the people of Kogi and transforming the State unto greatness,” the statement read.
The party prayed for the governor that God will comfort and grant him the needed fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, and may he be blessed with wisdom and guidance on his tour duty.
