The gubernatorial candidate of Action Alliance Party (AA) in the 2023 Kogi elections, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh, has bemoaned the dilapidated state of Edumo-Okeoffin-Ayede-Olla-Iluke road in Kabba-Bunu local government.
He noted that the condition of roads throughout Bunuland is deplorable and long overdue for reconstruction.
Speaking at the centenary birthday celebration and 64th coronation anniversary of the Olubunu of Bunu Kingdom, Oba Joseph Adebayo Ikusemoro, Braimoh urged the state government to reconstruct the road without delay.
He emphasized that the only way that the region can be civilized and developed is through the improvement of the infrastructure with the road.
“Besides, this situation is one of the remote causes of the banditry and insecurity that are rampant in the place. I am urging the state government to make the urgent repair of these roads, especially the Edumo-Okeoffin-Ayede-Olla-Iluke Road, their first priority.
“Those appointed to the state government from Bunu should, without delay, use their positions and nearness to the state governor as tools to facilitate the road’s reconstruction,” he said.
Braimoh urged sons and daughters of Bunu land to come together in one accord for rapid and sustainable transformation of the community.
He congratulated the royal father on the momentous occasion of his 100th birthday and 64th coronation anniversary as the Olubunu of Bunu land.
Braimoh is a native of Akutupa Kiri in Bunu, which is within the Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of the state, and he was the Chairman, contact and mobilization committee for the event.
