8th Zuma Films Festival: Umar Yakubu Ali Appointed as Kogi Coordinator

The Chief Press Secretary to the Former Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Comrade Umar Yakubu Ali has been appointed Kogi State Coordinator of the 8th edition of Zuma Films Festival scheduled to hold in Abuja from 1st to 5th December, 2017.
In a letter dated 3rd August, 2017 and signed by the North Central Zone Committee Secretary Mr. Jatau Nengak R’uel on behalf of the Coordinator,  Com. Ali, by this appointment is to serve as the liaison officer and will be responsible for collating films, contacting Kogi State filmmakers/practitioners and mobilizing them as lead and also giving correspondence to the Administrative Manager and Secretary of the Committee.
Ali, a creative writer and content producer who is an alumnus of the International Film & Broadcast Academy (IFBA) Lagos and National Film Institute (NFI) Jos is the CEO of Ali Zaki Productions and member of several professional bodies including the Association of Movie Producers, Nigeria.

Born 6th June, 1973 in Lokoja, Kogi State, young Umar Yakubu Ali attended Ma-ahadi LSMB,Lokoja, Muslim Community Secondary School, Lokongoma, Lokoja, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna, International Film & Broadcast Academy (IFBA), Lagos and International Institute of Journalism, Abuja (Lokoja Study Centre). He has attended several development training and seminars and workshops including a Cinematography training at the National Film Institute, Jos and a Leadership Training workshop in Accra, Ghana.
A Creative Writer, Activist, Journalist, Content Producer and Entertainment Entreprenuer, Umar Yakubu Ali is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ali Zaki Production Company (AZPC), a Film, TV and Music Production Company and the Chief Press Secretary to the 11th Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly.
He is a member of several professional bodies which includes, Association of Nigeria Authors (ANA), Association of Movie Producers, Nigeria (AMP), Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Internet Reporters Association of Kogi State (i-RAKS).
