7 Years Anniversary: ASUSS Chairman Hails Kogi Governor on Impressive Education Devt

The Kogi State Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Secondary School (ASUSS), Comrade Ranti Ojo has commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his impressive contributions in developing the educational sector.

Comrade Ojo gave the commendation in a statement on Friday while felicitating Governor Bello for his seventh year anniversary in office.

He stressed that the governor had given topmost priority to education in the last seven years.

He appreciated the present administration for  making the state an educational hub of excellence in  Nigeria.

The labour leader thanked the governor for building Model Secondary Schools across the three senatorial districts, establishment of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), priotizing teachers’ welfare and ensuring that students learn under an environment that is conducive for learning.

On teacher recruitment, Comrade Ojo appealed to the Governor Bello to urgently release the list of newly employed teachers to feel in the vacuum in the class rooms.

He also thanked Governor Bello for cash backing the promotion of teachers, stressing that this will no doubt motivate them in discharging their duties effectively.

According to him, teachers rewards should no longer be in heaven, but their efforts on earth should always be appreciated for their relentless service to humanity.

 Comrade Ojo seized the opportunity to appeal to the Governor for the release of circular on the harmonized retirement age of teachers approved by the executive council of the state to halt retirement of teachers that is still putting our schools in serious situation.
