Executive Chairman of Kogi State Mineral Resources Development Agency, Hassiat Ozavize Suleiman has called on Nigerians to embrace the country’s diversity as strength needed to foster a prosperous nation.

She made the call yesterday in Lokoja in a message to commemorate Nigeria’s 59th year independence celebration.

The Executive Chairman who is renowned for her grassroots women mobilisation through her Women of Substance Group said despite numerous challenges, Nigerians have reasons to celebrate the independence especially in the present democratic dispensation when credible leaders are at the helms of affairs.

She said “through strife and crises we have held together firmly; even when the very fabric of our unity has been threatened time and again, we have remained steadfast in unity and purpose. Indeed, that to me is the mark of true independence: the freedom to choose to remain together.”

Hassiat further stressed that to attain a stable political and social stability in the country, Nigerians have to patriotically emphasize on those elements that unite all segments of the the country rather than factors of religion, ethnic and party affiliation.

While urging Nigerians to pray for the success of the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, the astute politician congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello and entire citizens of Kogi State for being part of the effort to set the country on the path of socio-economic prosperity.

“I felicitate with my fellow Kogites; we are the Confluence of this great nation, the intersection where all the good people of Nigeria meet and depart, as such now more than ever we have to hold fast and speak with one voice as we go into our elections. The ‘Ebigo Unity’ has been carved, let us etch it in our minds by voting enmass for GYB /CEDO come November 16th.

“As we share messages of congratulations and patriotism, let us endeavour to imbibe the words and turn them into action in our daily lives. Let us make a strong decision to value our nation, and never forget the sacrifices of those who fought for, and won us freedom”, she implored.
