Fifty eight deaths were recorded from auto crashes which occurred across Kogi State in the month of January.
State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Olakunle Matajo, who disclosed this yesterday, said the deaths were recorded from 19 auto crashes.
Matajo said 180 passengers were involved in the accidents, 58 died, 79 sustained injuries, while 43 escaped unhurt.
He said most of the accidents were fatal, just as the figure was higher compared to the previous month.
Matajo, who attributed the crashes to over speeding, dangerous overtaking and driving as well as traffic rules violation, urged motorists to change their attitudes so that accidents can be reduced.
