The Egbira Witch Craft Association has declared support for any senatorial candidate emerging from Okehi Local Government Area, insisting that political equity and fairness must prevail in Ebiraland.
According to the Her Majesty, Iya Oyarazi Kudi Atta, President-General, Kogi State Witchcraft Union,, the long-standing political dominance of Okene Local Government has reached its peak and a point of political saturation, making it necessary for other areas, especially Okehi LGA, to produce the next senator.
The association further stated that the political career of Hon. AK Salami has suffered a major setback due to his inability to secure the APC nomination form, describing it as a failure to adequately protect the political interests of the people of Okehi.
They also expressed confidence that Chief Obaro Momoh Yusuf, popularly known as “Opochi Ozi,” possesses a brighter chance of politically and spiritually defeating former Governor Yahaya Bello in the coming political contest.
The group called on respected stakeholders and women elders from Ihima, Eika-Ohizenyi, Onyayi Iyebe, Inya Akonori, inya Anitutu, and other communities legend women to unite and stand firmly behind any senatorial aspirant from Okehi LGA in the spirit of justice and collective progress.
Furthermore, the association alleged that the political influence of former Governor Yahaya Bello has diminished following his decision to contest for the Senate seat, which they believe denies Okehi people the opportunity to produce the next senator.
The statement concluded with prayers and goodwill messages to Chief Obaro Momoh Yusuf and Senator Natasha, wishing them success in their political ambitions.
