Our attention has been drawn to the vandalization of one of Hon. Dayo Akanmode campaign billboards in Kabba town, Kabba-Bunu LGA of Kogi State, which was said to have been destroyed by political thugs sent by some political cankerworms in the state.

It is pertinent to note that these outdoor billboards and indeed other campaign materials were duly paid for, designed and erected in full compliance with all legal requirements.

It is quite unfortunate to give ourselves in Kogi West an illegal, unfair, unethical and fraudulent advantage among ourselves ahead of Kogi state gubernatorial election which will take place later next year. The good people of Kogi West should have seen themselves as one, irrespective of party affiliations, religious and regional arrangement.

When Dayo Akanmode started this movement, many thought he was not  serious and called him all set of names and almost advising him to withdraw. Today, the same man has become a threat and causing sleepless nights to many because they are now fully aware of his political structures, political engagements and what he can achieve ahead of 2023 Kogi guber election.

It will be quite ludicrous if this will be the political tactics we will be adopting ahead of 2023 general election and beyond.

We hereby urge our supporters not to retaliate to any form of attacks, Dayo Akanmode believe in democracy of pure purity with complete due processes and not a do or die affairs.

He remains the first person to declare for Kogi state governorship race ahead of 2023 which was the best calculated time for any serious aspirant to declare interest. We remain firm and believe in victory, no matter  the number of hurdles we will be crossing. We remain firm and optimistic of victory.

Just some days ago, Sen. Dino Melaye who is also a governorship aspirant in Kogi state cautioned his followers to desist from political hatred which might cause havoc to his own image, ambition and also jeopardize the interest of Kogi West from producing the next Governor of Kogi state. I think he (Dino) has demonstrated a high level of patriotism by releasing such guidelines and we urge other political elites and their followers in Kogi west and Kogi state at large to desist and resist themselves from politics of bitterness and see themselves as one entity irrespective of party affiliations and regional differences.

Lastly, I will urge us all to desist from political evil acts that might cost us more in future and distract us from our common objective, the governorship seat.
