Comrade Usman Austin Okai has assured the people of Dekina-Bassa federal constituency of adequate representation if given the mandate to represent them in the National Assembly in 2023.

Okai made this known while addressing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates in Oguma, Bassa local government area of Kogi state over the weekend.

The House of Representatives hopeful assured the delegates that he will be their voice and will always speak for all.

Okai disclosed that with him as their representative, it will not be a usual business for the good people of Bassa local government.

“The people of Bassa are special to Kogi state and Nigeria at large because of the local government’s strategic location and its conducive environment for agricultural activities which capable of helping Nigeria attain self-sufficiency in food production and food security.

“The good people of Bassa are excellent in academics and unique in their own style, but with so many graduates looking for job. The only way to address the issue is to have a representative who understands your plight and has capacity to amplify your voices at the national level.

“It is sad that Bassa local government is only recognized during the elections and not remembered for dividends of democracy,” he said.

He advised the party delegates against mortgaging the future of their children and the youths, insisting that he is the best for the job as the voice of the people would be heard at the National level if given a chance to clinch PDP ticket.

Okai said with the new electoral act, popularity of candidates will be a major factor in determining who wins the general election and counseled that the PDP must not risk the opportunity of getting back to power by giving tickets to some aspirants who will only come around during elections.

The activist said he has been there for the masses even without their mandate and that he will do more with their mandate.
