2023 Presidency: Christian, Muslim Clerics Pray for Kogi Governor’s Ambition

Over a thousand Nigerian Bishops, Pastors, Imams and Sheiks have organised prayer sessions for the presidential bid of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

The theme of the prayers tagged; ‘Once God has spoken twice have I heard’ is to ensure God’s continuous guidance and wisdom on Governor Bello as he pilots the affairs of the state and most importantly for God to enable him cling on the presidential seat in the forthcoming 2023 election.

Speaking, one of the co-organizers, Bishop Prince Madaki said it became pertinent to beseech God Almighty to take control of the process of the emergence of the next president of Nigeria, adding that God listened and granted the desires of Nigeriens in 2015 by allowing President Muhammadu Buhari emerge. 

According to him, as revealed by the Holy Spirit; “a vision has been heard, chanting loudly and calling on the underrated David, the son of Jesse in the person of Gov. Yahaya Adoza Bello to take over the throne of his forebearers as Nigeria’s next president in 2023.

“And in accordance with the directive of the Holy Spirit, we have the rare privilege and honour to re-baptise the Governor as we are gathered now on the divine mission today. Therefore, Governor Bello will be now known and called Yahaya Adoza “David” Before henceforth. And the anointed son who will lead Nigeria from May 2023,” he said.

On his part, Sheik Mahmoud Abubakar who described leadership as an integral part of human life, stressed the need to support Governor Yahaya Bello having displayed good conduct, strength of character and sincerity of purpose to lead the nation forward.

“My brethen, we must agree Governor Yahaya Bello has all the above as enlisted and that is why we are united in one voice in prayers for him. We are doing this because we want a Nigeria that would thrive, a Nigeria where there shall be peace and justice and stability and love for one another regardless of religious or ethnic affiliation,” he stressed.

Also speaking, a servant of the gospel of Christ based in Lagos, Bishop Charles Obe explained his position; “After a careful analysis of the contenders, I pitched my tent with the aspiration of Yahaya Bello the Governor of Kogi State. He is a rare being who would be difficult to his countenance in the affairs of Nigeria. He represents a new age, the age, the age of thinking outside the box in proffering solutions to the governance challenge in the country.”

Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Mineral, Abubakar Gegu from the government said Governor Yahaya Bello is a detribalised Leader who never supported religious bigotry, and nepotism in his governance.
He commended the organizers for committing themselves in spiritual exercise that sought God to enable Governor Bello become the president in 2023. 

Other government functionaries present at the event were, DG Research and Speech Writer, Barr. Moses Okezie, Immediate past Kogi State APC Women Leader, Rabi Garuna, Special Adviser on Special Duties, Afolabi Joseph-Raji, Special Adviser on Youths and Students Affairs, Ahmed Jibril, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, Avoyi Nwogu and SSA on Special Duties to the Governor in the office of the Deputy Governor’s Wife, Halimat Isah.
