The Progressive Caucus of the Kabba/Bunu Legislative Council has endorsed the 2023 presidential aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state.
The councilors, at a press conference held at Ajike Hotel, Kabba on Monday, also endorsed the House of Representatives aspiration of Kogi State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole to represent Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency.
The Deputy Council leader, Hon. Smart Adekunle said council have examined the activities of Governor Yahaya Bello since he assumed office in 2016 and unanimously resolved to endorse him for the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria considering his landmark achievements in the area of security, infrastructure development, civil service reform, appointment of credible individuals from Okun area into sensitive positions which has never happened before.
The councillors urged Nigerians to rally round Bello being a youth who believe in the overall development of Nigeria, stressing that he is a unifier, detribalized and a goal getter.
According to them, the Speaker is an achiever who has distinguished himself as the representative of people at the state level, pointing out that the ongoing construction of Kabba township roads is not without his lobby acumen hence if given a higher responsibility he will do more for the constituency.
The councilors said the Speaker being one of the biggest financial pillar of the All Progressive Congress in Kabba/Bunu aside his monumental achievements in youth empowerment, skill acquisition program, widow empowerment, noted that his leadership has remain one of the best that promote cordial working relationship with the Executive for the betterment of the state.
The Kabba/Bunu local government excos and 15 ward women leaders of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) were also in attendance in support of their councilors.
