The fortunes of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has gained yet another momentum in Ankpa local government area of Kogi state as the honourable member representing Ankpa II constituency at the Kogi state house of assembly, Hon Alfa Momoh Rabiu receives hundreds of the opposition People’s Democratic Party members into the ruling APC in Ukpaba, Ojoku Ward II of Ankpa local government area of Kogi state.
While welcoming the honorable and his entourage, a community Imam and an elder statesman in Ukpaba, Imam Isah Alhassan noted that the function was not limited to defection or political party event but also a step towards the endorsement of Hon Alfa Momoh Rabiu and all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections stressing that Hon Rabiu Alfa has indeed given leadership an absolute redefinition in the area.
Speaking on behalf of the defecting opposition party members, he extolled Hon Rabiu Alfa’s political consistency in the face of trials and tribulations noting that their defection to APC is propelled by the level of internal democracy seen in APC vowing to work round the clock for the victory of the party in the 2019 general elections.
In his remarks, Hon Rabiu Alfa thanked the new party members for their love, solidarity and goodwill vowing that the people shall not regret their decision urging them to work, sensitize and vote massively for all the party flag bearers for the greater good of the people of the area.
The APC delegation which was led by Hon Rabiu to receive the new party members also included the local government party chairman, Hon Abdullahi Zakari, the state coordinator of GOGAN, Hon Kamilu Abdullahi, local government party executives and a host of others.
Earlier after the defection which included an elder peer pressure group, Alapa Ogbo, Enemali Association and ex party officials was a community request and pledge made by a community youth leader who after thanking Hon Rabiu and his entourage for their time and services to the people prayed for an open market and educational supports to the community.
