The last general elections gave birth to several political gimmicks, intrigues and double crossing, but how ever what some of us were able to deduce from this exercise was the trickery nature of the ruling party the APC and their cunning way of going about their electioneering.

A close under study of their approach towards the Nigerian polity showed us how much they capitalize on propaganda to drive home their points and even victory as the case was in the last general elections.

Such deceit and trickery is what this same party has been working round the clock to repeat in Kogi east in the forth coming elections, but the truth is that the people have become wiser now and no amount of propaganda will help them in Kogi East.

Twisting and beautifying failure into success is not going to work, trying to convince the people with fake promises, when the previous mandate has not even been delivered is the highest form of political lies any party can decide to share or hide behind, this technique is not only going to be fruitless in Kogi East in the forth coming elections, but is already a dead strategy before its birth.

The electorates are fully aware of the realities on ground, they are conversant with the daily suffering of the constituency and can now tell who is on the side of the people and who is on the side of those who have been exploiting  them all this years.

So to those who have been putting much effort to propaganda, looking for one way or the other to share cheap blackmail, gossip and even give false accusations against other mandates are only wasting their time.

Those who have been going up and down writing long notes and rejoinders from the comfort of their beds in Abuja, falsifying facts and  trying vehemently to denigrate people who have giving all their life to the service of the constituency are only chasing the wind because with time the people will give their verdict and truth will be upheld.

We are at a time where our only concern is to see a better Kogi East, a Kogi East that can provide at least key basic amenities for its people, we are at a time when we have realized the strength in our votes and how far we can go to salvage the pathetic condition of our constituency.

We are at a time when nobody can impose any mandate on us, gone are those days when those who represent us are being hand pick and forced us, we have become aware of this game playing and we are going to the poles to ensure that we correct all this wrongs.

At this time in our history, we are in a period where the Igalà Man and the Bassa Man has become tired of politics of promise and fail, politics of godfatherism and one sided kind of representation.

All they yarn for is a man who can deliver, a man who can assuage the situation and better their common lives, if you are not out to address this then you are not who they people really want, and no amount of peddled lies, listing of ghost projects, buying of endorsements, sharing of cars and appointments to party leaders will give you the people’s support.

We want an issue based politics, we want critical arguments, we want fair hearing, we want profiles and antecedents of standards, we want to hear traceable achievements, we want to score points with out calling of names, we want to hear analysis with out hate speech, we want to hear aspirations without accusations, we want to hear good leadership arguments with out blames, not insults and calling of names at every instance.

We have found a mandate, and we have presented him with out fear, and since then we have been talking about him and letting the world know who he is with out diminishing his fellow aspirants.

To us it is our own way of saying we are out to rescue the people and that is what we are focused on, and what ever is not a part of this focus does not warrant our concern, so no amount of propaganda, false accusations, calling of names, gossip and blackmail can distract us.

We are on a mission and that mission is to rescue Kogi East from the hands of those who have exploited us for years.
