As the race for next year’s general election hots up, Igala Youth and women in Ganaja area in Kogi State have launched a political campaign movement with the aim of canvassing votes across the surrounding areas for President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello.
The movement which is called PMB/GYB Igala Solidarity Movement is aimed at ensuring overwhelming support for President Muhammadu Buhari and other candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Chairman of the group, Hon Dan Bobo told newsmen that the body’s objective was to bring electorate together irrespective of tribe and religion to campaign vigorously for the success of the APC in coming elections.
He said they resolve to support the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari for his resolve to fight corruption, a vice they said has caused damages to the reputation of Nigeria as a country.
Speaking while commissioning the group’s office, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello said the coming together of people of different age and sex to form the movement was a great sign that the Igala would not take a back seat in the affairs of the APC in Kogi state and Nigeria at large.
Governor Bello, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon Edward Onoja noted that the movement was formed out of the peoples love for Nigeria and Kogi State, and expressed optimism that they would use their membership strength, logistical capacity and determination to work for the APC.
He therefore promised them of his preparedness to prevail on the party in the state to give the group maximum support to enable it achieve its objectives.
