With the conclusion of primaries of political parties in preparation for the 2019 general elections, it is germane to x-ray the political arrangement and calculations as it stands in view of the lopsidedness in all areas that could be adjudged as meeting the least expectations of the would be electorates carried out by the ruling party.
The most worrisome of all are the results party’s and gladiators of the ruling party popularly known as the APC ,whose primaries and selection of anointed candidates was deliberately lopsided just for mere political favour at the expense of other areas.
In a democratic practice, equity and fair play must be the overriding factor that will translate to good governance and attract both human and physical development.so efforts are always geared towards maintaining this status which the so called ruling party had feign commiseration.
It is no longer news aside not considering the religious applications and implications,virtually all the political office holders and contestants are either concentrated in Dekina local government from the ruling party with a mindset to impose their various candidates vying for elective position on the people or from a particular place to the detriment of others,an anomaly that is already staring them possibly to electoral failure.
This trend is what Benjamin Ikani Okolo (BIO) has returned to unsettle in view of his political acceptance and popularity that was derived from all the areas in the federal constituency.
From a lay man political analysis and underscoring the political benefits to the advantage of the area and in negation to sane political arrangement,How can an area/local government produce the following through anointed candidate of an unpopular government?
1. Zonal Party Leader, APC
2. National Women Leader, APC
3. Local Government Administrator, APC
4. Aspirant Federal House Of Representatives, APC
5. Senatorial Aspirant, Kogi East
6. State House Of Assembly
All from a particular extraction and followership. What kind of political arrangement is these that had concentrated political offices to “only” a community that had the feelings of been ahead of others without prejudices? This is politically unacceptable as this was envisaged that brought about the second coming of the most populous candidate of BIO.
In Nigeria polity, the clamour against marginalization has heralded the space as that made the present administration unpopular both at the federal, state and local government levels expected to be redressed yet unabated in the coming dispensation.
If this satanic anointment of candidates by an unpopular and unacceptable administration that had turned the fortune of the majority of our people is allowed to fly, then we have signed and sealed the pact of perpetual poverty ridden line against our people,poor leadership quality, sordid and inconsiderate leadership for years to come. As the popular saying goes,”He who pays the piper, dictates the tone”
My worries; if what the ruling party have brought to the political market was based on peoples expectations and input, and not on teleguided political arrangement that is geared on fulfilling the desire of the current leadership in the state to continue to unleash bad leadership on the people by returning to power in Kogi by 2019, a situation the Igala race can no longer condone and accommodate.
On a state wide level, from Kogi East to Kogi Central and Kogi West, the efforts of the state government that have planted its stooges to contest, impose and win elections so as to pave way for the easy ride to winning the late 2019 governorship election, should be nip in the bud.
We have an opportunity to extricate more than ever before in 2019 ,to display our anger at its full glare beyond imagination to vote out these set of candidates of APC, in favour of the newly found equitable PDP of BIOs candidature.
In BIO’s PDP, arrangement and candidature, equity, exigency and equation was meticulously considered to redress the grave and glaring anomaly been bandied to cajole the electorates by the directionless era to a new area of political development to the betterment of the masses and the generality of the people.
BIO option was considered to boost tolerance in the area of political emancipation, fiscal discipline, physical and infrastructural allocation that will translate to sound political, social and economic independence of the entire federal constituency in Kogi state.
BIO is tested and trusted with full fledged electoral values,down to earth and high level tolerance who is always in touch with the people at the grassroots in terms of socio-economic development of its people considering greatly its diverse situation.
Therefore, a vote for BIO as PDP candidate from Dekina/Bassa federal constituency will herald a new dawn of political advancement, political reorientation, sound micro and macro economic development, robust skill acquisition drive with a view to achieving self sustenance in all areas of our development.
