Women in Kogi State have been asked to rally support for President Mohammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello to enable them wriggle out of hardship and become self reliant.
The Kogi State Chairperson of Confluence Cooperative Women Alliance (CONCOWA), Hajia Rabi Mohammed stated this while meeting with women Coordinators from Sarkin Noma, Felele, Crusher and Lokongoma area of Lokoja.
Hajia Rabi disclosed that with the empowerment program of President Mohammadu Buhari, supported by Gov. Yahaya Bello, her NGO has ensured that 6000 women across the state have benefited.
According to Hajia Rabi, the target for Kogi state is for 25,000 women to earn the N10,000 market money. She appealed to women who have not been credited to be patient.
The Chairperson charged women to stand up for the reelection of President Mohammadu Buhari and for Gov. Bello, disclosing that the 2019 election is about women empowerment. She urged the women not to mortgage their rights.
Hajia Rabi explained that CONCOWA is an umbrella body that seeks to bring Kogi state women to speak with one voice, said the objectives of setting up the organization is to assist widows, orphans, less privilege and empower women.
CONCOWA, she said, will train women on acquiring skills in the area of soap, beads, and disinfectants making, assured that the NGO is committed to uplifting the living standard of women in the state.
She described Gov. Yahaya Bello as a God ordained governor who should be supported by the women, describing those fighting him as fighting God’s divine plans.
