2019: Bassa People in Okunland Pledge to Vote All APC Candidates

Bassa people in Okunland have resolved to cast their votes in favor of the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general elections.

The group made this known during a meeting with the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole in Kabba on Sunday.

The patron of the group, Prince Isaac Hulegi commended the Speaker for his meekness and humility, noting that this will be the first time they will have the opportunity of meeting with any representative from the constituency despite their status as registered voters in the area. 

He urged the Speaker to convey their greetings to Governor Yahaya Bello and also inform him that they need his support to improve on their agricultural activities in the area.

Responding, the Speaker commended the people of Bassa living in Okunland for their peaceful conduct with their various host communities.

He noted that the current administration in the state under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello love people with peaceful disposition, stressing that security of lives and properties is a cardinal policy thrust of the administration.

He urged them to continue to support and cooperate with government as they go about their lawful endeavors, stressing that as their representative, he will continue to carry them along in anything he does. 

He appealed to them to support and vote all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections, pointing out that APC is the only party that have what it takes to move Nigeria forward.

The Speaker donated N200,000 towards the welfare of their members, while advising that the money should be used as thrift  to assist those who are into small scale business. 

He also promised to donate motorcycles to the executive as that will enable them to move freely.
