There are strong indications that the race to Kogi State House Of Assembly in Ijumu is going to be more competitive in 2015 than what we use to have in the past.

The game is getting more tougher as nobody can tell where the pendulum will swing to as at today because all contestants are contender ( no pretender ).

They are Hon. Omofaiye Victor Adewale ( PDP ), Hon. Yori Solomon Afolabi ( LP ), Hon. Cornelius Toye Olowo (APC) and Hon. Funsho Ekundayo Olumoko ( Accord Party ).

Hon. Omofaiye Victor Adewale ( PDP );

Hon. Omofaiye Victor Adewale is a former councillor for Ekinrin Adde Ward ( 2008-2011 ), P.A to Chairman, House Committee Science & Technology, National Assembly ( 2001-2003 ). He’s presently Legislative Aide to Senator Smart Adeyemi ( 2011-2015 ). He’s not that popular but hand-working and honesty and his party influence project
him to be a winner of the race.

Hon. Yori Solomon Afolabi ( LP );

Hon. Yori Solomon Afolabi hails from Iyah Gbede. He was two-term National President, Ijumu Students’ Union i.e 1992 & 1993 respectively. He is the member representing Ijumu Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly and he’s the minority leader of the said house. Hon. Yori Solomon Afolabi is a household name in Ijumu politics
although, his party is somehow weak but his track-record suggest him to be the winner.

Hon. Cornelius Toye Olowo ( APC );

Hon. Cornelius Toye Olowo was a former Councillor for Ekinrin Adde Ward. He’s not that too popular like others but his goodwill, past track-record and party structure are speaking for him and that place him to be the winner.

Hon. Funsho Ekundayo Olumoko ( Accord );

Hon. Funsho Ekundayo Olumoko was the former Caretaker Chairman and Liaison Officer, Ijumu Local Government respectively. Olumoko is a very popular person, easy going but his party is too weak to win an election in Ijumu.
