Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Assembly aspirant, Comrade Ismaila Yusuf Atumeyi has thrown his weight behind the recently constituted Consensus Committee of Elder who have been charged to work out modalities for rancour-free pre-election process for legislative aspirants in Ankpa II constituency.

PDP leaders forum in Ankpa II constituency met recently and unanimously agreed that there is need to ensure party cohesion as the 2015 general election approaches and decided that a committee of elders be constituted to look into the possibility of consensus candidature. This move, they believe will help maintain peace in the constituency and reduce electoral cost.

The committee, headed by Alhaji Ahmed Emabu, will among other things decide on which ward should produce the party’s assembly aspirant and also recommend a consensus candidate.

While praying that Allah will guide the committee, Comrade Atumeyi assured the people of Ankpa II of his commitment to carry the elders and youths in the constituency along if elected.

Atumeyi, a notable youth leader at state and national level, appealed to the good people of Ankpa II constituency to give him the opportunity for four years to make a difference.

“I pledge my unflinching support for Captain Idris Wada, whom he argued should be rewarded with a second term as governor of Kogi state, and President Goodluck Jonathan, Atumeyi urged his constituents to support PDP candidates at all levels come 2015.

Comrade Atumeyi is the youngest among the current aspirants and he believe strongly that the party elders will endorse his aspiration as he can serve as a veritable and reliable bridge between the youths and elders.
