17 Battle for APC Gov Ticket in Kogi on Friday

Barring last-minute changes, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will hold the governorship primary election in Kogi state on Friday, April 14.

17 aspirants eyeing the Lord Lugard House Lokoja after Governor Yahaya Bello whose second term ends in 2024.

The primary in Kogi State will be keenly contested by Senator Smart Adeyemi, Deputy Governor Edward Onoja, Asiwaju Idris Asiru and Abdulkareem Asuku, the Chief of Staff to Governor Bello.

Others are Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Muritala Yakubu Ajaka; son of the former Gov. Abubakar Audu, Prince Shauibu Abubakar Audu; former Executive Director, Rural Electrification Agency Sanusi Ohiare; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Salami Momodu O. Deedat and Usman Ododo, Auditor General, Local Government.

Also on ballot are Chairman Senate Committee on ICT and Cyber Crime Senator Oseni Yakubu; Halima l. Alfa; Momoh Jibrin; Alh. Yusuf Yakubu Okala; Prof. Stephen Ikani Ocheni; Abubakar Yahaya Achimugu,  Idachaba Friday and David A. Jimoh.

The primary elections in Kogi will be conducted through the direct mode as announced today by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party following series of petitions by aspirants and stakeholders from the state.
