12 Traditional Rulers Upgraded in Kogi State

Kogi state government has approved the appointments of 12 graded Chiefs across the three senatorial districts, one of whom was posthumous.

Commissioner for Information, Hajia Zainab Suleiman Okino in a Press release stated that the appointments and upgrading of the traditional rulers was sequel to the advise of the state Council of Chiefs and subsequent approval by the state Executive Council (EXCO) in its last meeting.

One of the appointees, Mallam Yusuf Anate died recently while awaiting his approval as the Onomu of Ohiaga/Eika, a 3rd class Chief.

Other two that were approved for grading as 2nd class include, Chief Sam Bola – the Olumagongo of Magongo and ,Mr Samuel Adai Onumisi- the Obobanyi of Emani,

The 3rd class Chiefs include; Chief J S Barnabas as Balogun of Isanlu, Mallam Abdulkarim Muhammed Onuruoiza Ajayi – the Ohitakpe of Okengwe, Mr Suberu Ajayi- the Omokazi of Ekpoto, Hon. Abdulkarim Aliyu Anikajogun- the Otu of Awuse/Adobe and Mr Muhammed Yusuf as the Ohimozi of Udezi.

Others are Mallam Mamudu Ibrahim – the Okatama of Jamata, Aminu Ndana Mohammed – the Etsu of Akpata, Hassan Sule – the Onu Inye and Mr Michael Akoje as the Onu Ochuchu.
