100 Days in Office: KONGONET Commends Ododo on Good Governance, Reminds Governor of 12-Point Pact With Kogites

A coalition of civil society organizations, Kogi NGOs Network (KONGONET), has commended Governor Usman Ododo for his remarkable achievement in his first 100 days in office.

The Chairperson of KONGONET, Amb. Idris Ozovehe Muraina in a statement on Monday, tasked the Ododo-led administration to address the challenges facing the state and implement people-oriented development policies that will benefit all citizens of the state.

The statement noted that after a thorough assessment and follow up, the Ododo-led administration was adjudged to be on track at delivering on his electoral promises.

KONGONET, however, reminded the Governor of his pact with the people of Kogi state drawn from twelve thematic areas: good governance and leadership, infrastructural development and maintenance, education and human capital development, healthcare and social welfare, agriculture and rural development, security and peace building, women empowerment and gender equity, environment and sustainability development, industry and commerce, information and communications technology, youth empowerment and sports development as well as entertainment and tourism development.

The coalition called for more strategic engagement with representatives of civil society organizations to foster transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in governance.

He emphasized that the present administration commitment to the development of Kogi State is evident through it move to upgrade Adogo Airstrip to Cargo Airport, official inauguration of State Steering Committee on open government partnership (OGP) after two years of sign -up, commencement of Sector Implementation Plans (SIP) for Kogi State Development Plan 2024 – 2056.

“Your leadership in the next phase of your tenure will be crucial in shaping the future of our state, and we look forward to continued partnership towards building a better Kogi State for us all.

“The Governor has done well in the donation of vehicles and other security gadgets to security outlets, Ongoing dualization of Kaduna junction through Zango-meme bridge road etc, and we appreciate the strides you have taken towards improving the lives of our people.

“As the apex body of civil society organizations network in the state, we recognize the importance of collaboration between the government and the civil society sector in driving positive change and sustainable development,” the statement read.

While commending his dedication, vision and efforts in leading the state at this critical period, KONGONET congratulated Governor Ododo on his first 100 days in office as the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
