The Kogi state Chapter of University of Jos Alumni Association is set for inauguration on Saturday 7th May, 2016 at Lokoja with the Executive Governor of Kogi state His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello expected to grace the occasion as Special Guest of Honour.
The Acting Public Relations Officer of the Association Hon Muhammed Onogwu Galaticus in Lokoja while addressing pressmen stated the activities lined up for the event to include; JOSITES/NBTS Blood Donation Campaign on Friday 6th May, 2016: This is a community development initiative of the association to raise awareness within Lokoja metropolis on the need to donate blood and save someone’s live.
The campaign will concentrate on the local environment of Lokoja metropolis while a Reception for University of Jos Family by Kotonkarfi Emirate of Kogi state will hold on Saturday, 7th May, 2016, 11am.
The Paramount Ruler of the Kotonkarfi Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Alh. Abudulrasaq Isah Koto is a nineteen ninety graduate of University of Jos theatre arts department. He will host the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, Prof. Hayward Mafuyai and the Josites family to a royal reception as part of the activities for the inauguration of UJAA Kogi state Chapter.
The event will be climaxed by the Distinguished Alumni Dinner same day at 6:30pm at Saatof Hotel, Lokoja in honour of Hon. Edward Onoja, the Chief of Staff to the Kogi sate Governor and Mr. Idris Yakubu Executive Director of the Skye Bank who were recently appointed to their various offices. The former Kogi state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Idris Omade and the Curator of the Ibaji Eka Festival, Mr. Inaju U. Inaju would also presented with Merit Award for their contributions to the build-up of the Alumni Association in Kogi state. It is aimed at encouraging upcoming Josites towards excellence and also to expand the frontier of relationships amongst great Josites.
The various events are expected to be attended by personalities across the world to be hosted by the Vice Chancellor of University of Jos, Prof. Hayward Mufuyai and also that of Federal University, Lokoja Professor Angela Miri both Alumnus of the University of Jos. They will be assisted by the National President of University of Jos Alumni Association, Salau Momodu DCGP (Rtd)
