The Kogi State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has described the swearing of newly appointed commissioners by Governor Yahaya Bello as the highest heights of perpetuating illegality and rascality.

In a statement issued in Lokoja, Acahdu Dickson, Director Research and Documentation of the Party, said the governor’s action, has clearly shown to the world that he has been the one fanning the ember of discord in the state house of Assembly.

The PDP lamented a situation where inspite a court ruling that returned the Rt. Hon Momoh Jimoh Lawal, as Speaker and other leadership of the house, the Group of five went ahead to screen the commissioners.

The PDP described the hide and seek approach of stoking the crisis in the state House of Assembly as bringing the office of the governor, who is the chief executive officer of the state as shameful. While noting that the legislative imbroglio caused and being sponsored by the governor will not stand the test of time, as you cannot build on a faulty foundation, described the governor’s action as null and void.

The PDP called on people of the state who have registered their displeasure at the governor’s action, to be patient with the various levels of impunity, illegality and financial recklessness happening in the state.

The PDP urged the people of the state to remain steadfast in prayers for the state, so that the state is not reduced to a failed state as is being envisioned by Gov Yahaya Bello.
