Parading the suspects before newsmen, the state Police Commissioner, Paul Okafor, said his command was able to achieve the feat because of the zero tolerance to corruption and the character re-orientation he gave to his officers and the ranks and files.

He said the command had put in place covert and overt security measures to protect lives and property of citizens in the state and warned criminals to relocate from the state or be ready to face the wrath of the law

The police boss said the robbers were arrested at various locations in the state where they were unleashing terror on innocent citizens, especially motorists passing through the state

Among those arrested, he said, was a Fulani herdsman, identified as Muhammed Idrisa, and five others, who attacked one Isah Mamoud and Abubakar Usman at gunpoint, and dispossessed them of their N23,000

Also paraded were Chinobi Godwin, Okechukwu Uchenna, John Samuel and two others who allegedly invaded a shopping mall in abroad day light and overpowered the sales girls before carting away unspecified some of money

Aside from 10 other suspects arrested at various flash points along the ever-busy Abuja-Lokoja-Okene Highway, one Sanni Mohammed was also arrested for an attempt to kidnap a Fulani man, Salisu Ibrahim, in Ihima near Okene

Items recovered from the suspects included five pump action guns, two short guns, one toy gun, two AK47 rifles knives, cutlasses, large quantity of ammunition and charms, among others
