I, Engr Akpa Staphen Achema Enemona, commiserate with the entire Igala Kingdom and indeed the state at large over the sudden demise of the Attah of Igala, His Royal Highness, Dr Michael Idakwo Ameh Oboni 11 whose sad transition took place a couple of days ago.
Although, Dr Michael’s reign was painfully ephemeral given his short sojourn on the most exalted Igala traditional stool, his was a great and uncommon conquerer with unprecedented bravery who tried to rewrite and change the narrative about the Igala traditional institution to reflect the inherent realities as a people bound by indivisible spirit of love.
His Royal Highness toed the path of the Igala greats who made salient sacrifices in the unification of the adherents of the kingdom and Salvaging the geographical landscape which was hitherto usurped, an indelible mark which will never be obliterated.
His Royal Highness who also doubled as Chairman, Kogi state traditional council of chiefs, was a great father to many sons and daughters of Igala extraction who exhibited uncommon fatherly traits by absorbing and taking with psychological calmness some undue and ill informed dispositions by the subjects, this alone will surely endear him to every concerned person of the tribe of Igala.
No amount of eulogies will adequately emphasize the enduring legacies and contributions by this great personality to set the kingdom on a viable pedestal for positive development, but we will continue to appreciate him as one of the leaders who demonstrated his readiness to change the society for the better by redefining priorities such that could attract a redefined government presence. Megwa Attah, Gabaaaaaaidu. May you continue to rest in peace.
