Running mate to Late Prince Abubakar Audu in November 21 Kogi governorship election, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke has expressed appreciation to the people of the state for standing by him in the political turbulence that followed the death of his boss, Prince Abubakar Audu.
Addressing his supporters at his Ekinrin Adde residence during his birthday celebrations on the Christmas day, Faleke said his decision to approach the tribunal was aimed at protecting the mandate given to the Audu/Faleke ticket on November 21, saying he was hopeful that the judiciary will do justice to the issue.
“I want to thank you all for standing by the Audu/Faleke ticket. I have no words to describe the late Prince Abubakar Audu but I am determined to carry on from where that uncommon character stopped.
We campaigned together so we are thoroughly abreast of our campaign promises.
“My struggle for declaration as Kogi Governor-Elect is not a selfish adventure, but a strong desire to protect the rule of law. We need to protect democracy in this country.
I am not fighting any individual, but a system that wants to rob Peter to pay Paul. Let it be told today that I remain a solid member of our great party, the All Progressives Congress”.
Faleke used the occasion to plead with his supporters to continue to pursue the dream of the Rescue Mission peacefully, assuring them that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
