Spurred by his burning desire to ensure that his Christian constituents celebrate this year’s Christmas accordingly, the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Yakubu Oseni has distributed two trucks of rice across his constituency.
The lawmaker, while urging Christians to celebrate the season with high sense of decency and decorum, called for continuous prayers for the state and Nigeria at large, stressing that the real reason for Christmas celebration should not be deviated from.
“I am very much aware of the hardship orchestrated by the sudden upsurge of corona virus in the first quarter of this year. It was a perilous period but we scaled through as a result of your ceaseless prayers and abiding faith in the leadership of this country especially in Kogi State which is ably piloted by our proactive Governor Yahaya Bello.
“These items therefore, are just tokens to complement your stuffs as you celebrate Christmas and new year,” he said.
In a related development, Senator Yakubu Oseni distributed school materials to some schools in his constituency.
Schools that benefitted in the gesture are Demonstration Nursery and Primary schools, Onyikoko, Local Government Secondary School Upogoro, LGA Model Primary School Obangede and Government Science Secondary School Adogo.
The items distributed for Secondary Schools are Mathematics textbooks, English textbooks, Computer Text Book, Exercise Books (of 80, 60, 40 and 20 leaves) and 40 leaves of graph books.
Items shared for primary schools were Mathematics, English and Science/Technology textbooks.
Other materials are customized school bags, a set of 3 in one Printer, a set of Desktop Computer, 1 UPS and customized Exercise books of 80, 60, 40 and 20 leaves and 40 leaves of graph book.
As beneficiaries poured encomiums on the lawmaker for his untiring resolve to identify with the people at the grassroots, a resident of Okene who simply identified himself as Abdulkareem said he was awestruck with the zeal with which Senator Oseni delivered on his campaign promises to the people.
Describing the lawmaker as ‘sui generis’ in the annals of representation in Kogi Central Senatorial District, Abdulkareem further noted that his humility and charisma in the National Assembly has become a thing of pride to the people of Kogi Central and Kogi State in general.
“For the first time since the creation of Kogi State, we are now blessed with a Senator whose words are his bond, exudes leadership with high sense of dedication by placing his people at the heart of his legislative engagements. We can now beat our chest that we have a credible representative at the red chamber,” he said.
