Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has praised the Member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, and Chairman of the House Committee on Customs and Excise Duties, Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide, describing him as “a true representative of the people.”

Fanwo, who also serves as the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Mopamuro, made the remark during the 2025/2026 Yuletide Festivities in Amuro, where he highlighted Abejide’s recent community development commitments and ongoing public impact.

Speaking on Abejide’s pledge of ₦10 million each to 71 autonomous communities across Yagba Federal Constituency, Fanwo noted that “no federal representative has ever done such in the history of Kogi State,” stressing that Abejide’s approach to public service sets a new benchmark for constituency representation.

Fanwo, while acknowledging their different political affiliations — Abejide in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and himself in the APC — maintained that performance is the ultimate measure of leadership, noting that “Rep. Abejide is an outright performer, and performance cannot and should not be replaced.”

He further commended Abejide’s collaboration with the state government on security matters, stating that the federal lawmaker has consistently supported efforts to maintain peace and stability across Yagba and beyond.

On future political alignments, the Commissioner hinted at ongoing discussions, revealing that there are “top-level plans” for Abejide to join the APC to contest for a third term in the House of Representatives, reflecting his growing political capital and cross-party appeal.

Fanwo also expressed appreciation for Abejide’s security interventions, including support for surveillance logistics and grassroots security partnerships across Yagba. He assured the people of Amuro that both the State Government and Rep. Abejide are being engaged on the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Orokore–Takete-Ide and Oroke–Takete-Ide roads, key routes affecting mobility and trade.

He concluded by urging APC stakeholders in Mopamuro to intensify mobilisation efforts for the party’s ongoing E-Registration exercise, stressing the importance of political participation in strengthening party structures at the grassroots.
