Matthew James Omeiza popularly known as Mr Spreading, Okehi LGA Secretary, has congratulated Ahmed Usman Ododo, Governor of Kogi state, on his victory at the court of appeal.
On Thursday, the court of appeal sitting in Abuja, dismissed an appeal filed by Muri Ajaka, candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), challenging Ododo victory in the November 2023 governorship election.
Mr Spreading, in a congratulatory message on Thursday, said the judgement delivered by the court of appeal affirms that the rule of law is meant to protect the will of the people in a free and fair electioneering process.
He also urged the governor to continue to work with other candidates for the development of the state.
“By this Judgement, the appellate court clearly shows that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and Deputy Governor Oyibo Salisu were the candidates who the people of Kogi chose to pilot their affairs for the next four years.
“The confidence the people repose in the OdodoOyibo administration has been well earned and should be Genuinely respected,” he said.
While congratulating Gov. Ahmed ododo and the leadership of the APC for the Appeal Court’s victory, Okehi scribe stated that the fact that the decision of the Appeal Court was a clear indication that the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and its candidate, Mr. Muri Ajaka has no justification to challenge the election result in the first place because they were beaten fair and square.
“The verdicts of both the Election Petitions Tribunal and the Appeal Court are clear indications that the SDP and its candidate ought not to have challenged the results of the election in the first place because they were beaten fair and square.
“It is a victory well-deserved as the Appeal Court has now proven the Election Petition Tribunal right concerning their earlier rulings in favour of Governor Ahmed Ododo.
“On behalf of my my Boss, the caretaker chairman of Okehi LGA, Hon. Amoka Monday Eneji (ODU), my beautiful wife, staff and the good people of Okehi LGA, I also congratulate our party, its leadership, members and supporters for all the efforts they put into the electioneering just as I urge other contenders in the election to join hands with the current administration and support its policies to make Kogi more greater,” he said.
