The honourable member representing Ankpa 1 State Constituency and the Deputy majority leader of the Kogi State house of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has reiterated his commitment to the youths and the people of Ankpa LGA as his priority.
While receiving members of the G-20 who paid him a courtesy visit headed by the chairman, Engr. Baba Sunday and the Secretary Mr. Gabriel Ujah, he said the youths need a lot of mentoring and reorientation plus empowerment, for them to be able to stand on their own.
“Lack of empowerment for the youths is one of the reasons why we are experiencing a lot of vices in the country, as well as the absence of love for one another. It is vital to note that it would be an unforgivable waste of human resources for the strength the youths to be abandoned or wrongly put to use. There should be given opportunities to exercise their talents.
That is why I put more emphasis on the youths to see how they can be carried along in all spheres. My Skill acquisition training is ongoing and we train people in different fields, after which we empower them to stand on their own and contribute to their families positively. I also assist and mentor young ones who come up with productive business ideas, and support them financially to start up. Beyond acquiring the formal skills to know how to read and write, the ability to think, understand, analyze, and be productive is one thing that every young person must strive towards.
The secretary of the G-20 group, Mr. Gabriel Ujah while commending on the leadership style of Hon. Ahmed Mohammed describes him as a philanthropist, a human society developer, and a leader filled with character, sincerity of purpose. He commend him for embarking on one of the biggest water project in the history of Kogi State, (Operation Water for all) which is currently providing water to 19 communities and targets more. He said the people are proud of him for representing the people and doing the needful.
He also assures him of their support any day, anytime as there are stakeholders to see that Ankpa move forward positively.
