The maiden edition of the much anticipated beauty and brains contest, ‘Omidan Oge’ to showcase the Okun traditional attire, cultural heritage (asa ibile okun) and launch the campaign against indiscriminate pregnancy among young girls in Okun land has been endorsed by the Nigerian Police Force, Kogi state command.
Omidan Oge is one of the projects of the Yeye Oge of Okun land, Yeye Omoleye Aiyelabowo to congregate and disperse the young Okun girls from the league of social vices crusaders, empowering them with requisite knowledge to join in solving today’s societal problems, empowering women across Okunland, unveiling the Okun connect platform and recognising Okun sons and daughters that has exceled in their chosen fields.
While the Omidan Oge crew visited the Commissioner of Police, Kogi state command, Hakeem Busari to seek his consent and solicits his collaboration, the Commissioner noted that the idea will enhance the unity and progress of Okun people and it will equally help reduce crime.
The police chief gave his blessings and pledged his support to the success of this edition before, during and after the event.
The event is scheduled to hold on the 10th of August, 2019 at Kabba, Kogi state.
