Young African Leaders Initiative Network (YALI Network), Kogi hub on Saturday elected Abdullahi Maiyaki as the new state coordinator.
The electoral committee headed by Mr. Onuoha Chibuikem announced the results of the election after a thorough screening of contestants and presentation of manifestos.
Other elected leaders are: Earnest Favour, Deputy Coordinator; Comfort Fache, General Secretary; Ibrahim Dan Asabe, Program Manager; Fateema Muhammed, Financial Secretary; Engr. Kabir Hussain; Public Relation Officer and Jimoh Godwin, Social Media Manager.
The executive director, Hands Across Africa Development Initiative, Umar Dan’Assabe Muhammed, who conducted the swearing-in ceremony, charged the new executives on the needs to uphold their commitment and promises has highlighted in their manifestos to the hub and the community at large.
Pioneer and outgoing coordinator of the hub, Miss Eunice Emmanuel-Bagi in her presentation on ‘Youth Leadership: Identifying the SDGs to Drive Community Development Advocacy’ charged members to flex their muscles of experiences with innovative ideas, knowledge and connections toward the implementation of the goals.
She stressed that the SDGs 17 Goals are world of innovative projects capable of creating possibilities of sustainable future which must not be jettisoned or neglected for personal interest or prejudice.
She harped on the need for the youths, community leaders, youth groups and civil society organization to always work together towards transforming their communities through the implementation of the SDGs to the best of their strength.
Emmanuel-Bagi said this is necessary because the SDGs 17goals is not just about patriotism or passion in giving back to the community but a generally acceptable holistic building principle and approaches for a sustainable development for all.
