Former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Yahaya Bello, CON, on Wednesday once again demonstrated his enduring relevance in national politics as he attended the inauguration of the Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilization Committee at the Lagos residence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The high-level meeting, convened by President Tinubu, brought together serving governors, former governors and key political actors across the country, underscoring the administration’s resolve to strengthen internal cohesion, manage conflicts and consolidate political support nationwide. Among the distinguished personalities present, Yahaya Bello stood out as one of the most prominent and influential figures at the event.
Since leaving office, Bello has remained a central force within the All Progressives Congress (APC), widely regarded as a grassroots mobilizer with a deep understanding of political strategy and conflict management. His presence at the committee’s inauguration was seen by many observers as a recognition of his experience, loyalty to the party, and proven capacity to build bridges across political, ethnic and regional divides.
Yahaya Bello was seated alongside President Tinubu and an array of influential leaders, including governors Uba Sani (Kaduna), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos) and Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers). Also present were key national figures such as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, former Kebbi State Governor Adamu Aliero, legal luminary Muyiwa Banire, and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.
Political watchers note that Bello’s continued inclusion in strategic national engagements reflects the confidence President Tinubu and the APC leadership repose in him.
