Kogi hiring helicopter is a part of plans to divert attention from the real issues on ground
…warns against further intimidation of NLC and TUC in Kogi state

The Peoples Democratic Party National Youth Frontier, PDPNYF, has raised alarm over plots by Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to divert the recently released 20 billion Naira bailout fund for the state by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
According to the national coordinator of PDPNYF, Comrade Austin Okai Usman, there are sinister plans to divert the bail out fund by the governor and his cronies.
Austin explained further that the bailout fund approved for the state is enough to pay every category of workers in Kogi state from cleaner in the Local Government to the highest ranked civil servants in the state.
“Yahaya Bello has collected more than five months allocation before the release of the bailout loan. We are aware Yahaya Bello is harassing, intimidating and bullying the state chapter of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and other labour leaders and those he cannot bully into silence are induced with money. This conspiracy of silence in Kogi state must stop no”, he said.
“PDPNFY called on relevant anti-corruption bodies like ICPC and EFCC to ensure proper monitoring and implementation of the bailout fund recently released to Kogi state government as the body language and actions of the Governor is questionable.
“The workers have been patient enough and their patience should not be taken for granted otherwise the existing peace in the State will be threatened.
Yahaya Bello The Ghost Governor Protest
The PDPNYF coordinator described the controversial screening exercise conducted by Yahaya Bello-led administration as a charade.
“The exercise was targeted at a particular category of people, full of irregularities, marred with series of omissions. These were evidenced, as some people were intentionally denied screening forms and subsequently barred from the screening activities. We know Bello is  aiming at sacking legitimate workers as so many of the workers were denied screening exercise, the labour leaders in Kogi state were not carried along as they were schemed out by the Governor’s cronies, who were engaged in campaign of calumny and blackmail against the state Labour leaders. These culminated to what I called “conspiracy of silence” in the whole game.
“This is the time for Labour to shut down the state. It is clear from all indication, in addition to the body language that there are sinister plans to divert the Kogi state bailout loan. Hiring of helicopter is part of such plans and a sign of lack of Idea.

“The time is now. The NLC and other labour leaders in Kogi state should rise up to their duties and shut down government activities in Kogi state. It is obvious Bello is treating Kogi state workers like slaves and we cannot allow this to continue. NLC Kogi state chapter must wake up to their responsibility.
“Government is for the people, yes, but I believe Bello is doing this because he was not elected, he inherited votes, he is unaware of the political contract between the elected government and the voters.

“It is time to stand by our people, the poor civil servants in Kogi state, both skilled and unskilled workers employed by Kogi state previous administrations. This conspiracy of silence must stop! The bullying and blackmail of the Kogi state labour leaders must stop! Bello should fear his creator (God), and halt the so called mass retrenchment.
The hiring of Helicopter by Yahaya Bello is a mere tactic at diverting attention from the real issues on ground. I do not see how helicopter will stop cultists from killing, I do not see how flying helicopter around Lokoja will stop Fulani invasion and killing our people at midnight, I do not see how one helicopter will cover 21 Local Governments.
“The so called helicopter is part of his plan to waste the bailout loan, and it shows that Kogi state Government under Yahaya Bello has ran out of ideas and characterized with confusion.
“Bello should drop his arrogance and ask from people that knows what to do and how to do it. Look at the roundabouts he demolished until date there is no plan to rebuild it. It is obvious the government in Kogi state is confused. What we have in Kogi state is existence of Cabal not government.
