Ahead of 2019 House of Assembly elections in Kogi state, the Irunda Progressive Front (IPF) has described Ogbeni David Sunday Oni as most suitable to represent Yagba East in the hallowed chamber.
In a press statement signed by Stephen Solomon, IPF said their choice of Ogbeni became imperative after wide consultations across the local government.
“The choice of Ogbeni David Sunday Oni to represent the good people of Yagba East on the floor of Kogi State House of Assembly is an idea informed by years of prayers, wide consultations and hard work.
“The #NotTooYoungToRun agitation cannot be more auspicious in timing with the likes of Ogbeni David Oni throwing his hat in the ring. He is a seasoned comrade who has distinguished himself and is worthy of representing his people.
“Looking into his track record as a mining engineer, he worked with BAJOL Integrated Services in Lagos, Nigeria and distinguished himself. He was one time National President of Okun Students Association (NAOS) and the current media consultant to the Special Adviser to Kogi Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Pius Kolawole. His track records shows that he has good pedigree required for his ambition.
“Comrade Oni is not a political or educational misfit. He is not an opportunist with an open pot belly of greed, insincerity and moral bankruptcy.
“The Kogi State House of Assembly cannot be a gathering of people without constituency conscience. Oni is a grass root politician. He has been on the ropes and learned how to climb out even when the coast is not clear. He understands the wire of politics surrounding the murky legislative quarters of Lugard stables. He is fit as a fiddle and ready to run,” he said
