The Yagba East Local Government Area chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has set the ball rolling officially, for the Local Government election slated for Saturday, October 19th being piloted towards producing the next Council Chairman and Councilors in all the ten wards of the LGA.
The train is led in Council by the Chairman, Hon. Abdulrasak Ijagbemi, the immediate past Chairman of the LG and a Special Adviser to the Governor, ably Deputized by Hon. Jubril Ahmadu, former Special Adviser to the Governor and one time NANS number 2 in Nigeria. Both will work directly with the Director General, Hon. Emmanuel Obaro, current member for Yagba East LG Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly and Deputy DG, Kabiyesi Hon. Samuel Adebola Ghadaffi, present Chief of Staff to the House of Representatives member for Yagba Federal Constituency.
The team has a 43-man main council and seven different committees, namely Women Mobilization led by Hon. Khadijat Suleiman as Chairperson; Entertainment Committee under the Chairmanship of Elder Dayo Ipinjaro; Transport and Logistic led by Hon. Friday Musa Kareem as Chairman; Legal under the leadership of Barr. Babatunde James Esq as Chairman, Contact and Mobilisation led by Hon. Abubakar Mutiu as Chairman, while the Security and Intelligence is to be marshalled by Hon. Tayo Johnson who is the Chairman. The Media and Publicity led by Comrade Dayo Onibiyo as the Chairman. They are to be assisted by Committee Secretaries and Members across all the wards.
The party, in its preparations, is leaving no stone untouched as it sees the need for synergy and team work as critical and a veritable tool in setting the tone for a developmental grass root administration agenda.
The Chairman of the party in the local government called on all party members to rally round the Campaign Council for success at the coming poll.
He added that the ultimate aim of the team is to deliver the party on the 19th of October with Hon. Dare Joshua Venza as its flag bearer, becoming the next Executive Chairman of the LGA.
In his concluding words, the Chairman of the party said, “APC is what we put in front and our icon, and as such, we are all members of the Campaign Council”
