Kogi State Commissioner for works, Hon Godwin Onamah has called on the contractor handling Lion’s Club/Geregu road project to improve on the quality of work and also increase the pace in order to justify the huge resources channeled towards the projects by the State government.

The Commissioner, who was on an assessment tour of the road in company of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Deborah Ogunmola and other top officials of the ministry as well as staff of the state ministry of Lands and Housing and Urban Development, said the state government would not condone shoddy execution of projects.

According to a statement made available to The Graphic by the Public Relations Officer of the ministry, Ilujunka Adoga, the commissioner was quoted as saying “In his determination to complete all the on-going road Projects across the state, His Excellency, Capt. Idris Wada released money for the compensation of properties that are affected by some road projects in the State”.

While presenting cheques to the property owners on the right of way in Lokoja Township Ward ‘A’ Road, Hon. Onamah called on the people to continue to co-operate and support Capt. Wada’s administration in the state in order to encourage him to do more for them in the years ahead.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Rev John Odo and Mallam Alhassan Mohammed thanked the Governor for developing Lokoja, the state capital and the state in general with the construction of network of roads.

They equally appreciated the prompt payment of compensation to property owners on the right of way along the road.

They pledged their loyalty to Capt. Wada and prayed God to continue to strengthen him to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
