Workers and pensioners are suffering and in spite of the hope and trust that they had on this administration, they have been betrayed. Nothing has changed.
The poor performance of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at all levels of government is responsible for the abject poverty in Kogi state , and that the party is an opposition to itself.
The current fracas between the All Progressive Congress is as an act of immaturity perpetrated by a bunch of people who had no positive feelings for the people they govern. They do not have the people at heart.
We expected the governor to take control of his ego by maintaining a smooth relationship between all party executives . The failure of the governor to ensure this means that it is not in control. It has become a divided party.
The ‘smart’ people who were supposed to lead sensible reforms and drive the change agenda have been reduced to actors in a silent movie.
The government had become a source of shame to me, as it now offers daily “a dose of high drama” in place of “a change agenda that was promised.
I feel sad and ashamed at the way things are unfolding in Kogi state. If I convinced even five people to vote for APC, then I owe them an apology. For not properly interrogating the party who offered itself as the solution to Kogi’s problems.
I will freely say that this is one of the biggest lessons I have learnt in my life so far. APC lacked the experience and technical-know-how to administer the state.
A lot of plans have been outlined but, not much has actually been seen in terms of progress and delivering of campaign promises; most of the campaign promises have actually not been met.
I advised the state government to place little emphasis about what happened in the past, turn things around and stop blaming the past administrations. We have so many reservoirs of experienced people who could have assisted the government.
