Someone called and asked me if my campaign against the ambition of Senator Adeyemi to go back to the senate for a third term will cease now that he has won his party primaries.
My response was an emphatic NO.
My aversion to this infamy will not abate because not only is it inordinate but callous and selfish.

An extra tenure of four years for Sen. Adeyemi will be a further experiment in a trip in retrogression that began over seven years ago because he lacks the basics that will enhance growth and development in kogi west which are integrity, transparency, accountability and selfless representation.
He has failed to deliver on his numerous dubious promises and an individual that cannot be taken by his words is not worthy of our votes. His handling of constituency projects have been largely fraudulent as reflected in the number of poorly executed and abandoned projects scattered all over kogi west. Even with contracts the companies he has substantial interests in outside the constituency projects, he has exhibited lack of vision and commitment to complete these projects for the benefit of the people. What are the tangibles in terms of development can he claim genuine credit for apart from the mundane he is showcasing as achievements.
Under no circumstance can we afford to jettison the rotation arrangement at least not to satisfy the gregarious appetite for power of a failure and disappointment in the garb of a senator. After two terms, can we sincerely say, this is our son in whom we are well pleased? Let no one
play the parochial sentiment card with me because the collectivity of Ijumu cannot sincerely claim to be blessed with Sen. Adeyemi’s tenancy and occupation of the senate since 2007. It’s about time we drop this hypocrisy that has been the reason for our persistent agony as a people.
This continued attempt at collective hypnotism must be tackled and destroyed. Let no one be deceived, another four years with Sen. Adeyemi in the senate on behalf of kogi west will be a further journey into retrogression. This is because his ambition is not about desire to serve but about the opportunity the office offers for him to further feather his nest and continue the milking of the cow the senate seat has become. The reality on ground is that Sen. Adeyemi has become the face of all that is wrong with us in kogi west. The truth however is that the Ajanaku phenomenon is only symptomatic of a society ‘of anything is possible’, one that thrives in aberration of putting square pegs in round holes.
We cannot continue to indulge in disdain for truth, elevation of corruption and incompetence, reinforcement of failure and celebration of mediocrity and expect to move forward. The time to wake up from this “Sleep of Jonah” is now.
