Why Did He Come Back?

He was decorated overnight with a dead man’s crown. And in a backslapping celebration, his political advent became so loud and boisterous.

Even in the far societies, many opined that been the first in his peers, Kogi’s messiah has arrived. Unfortunately, coronating Emperor Yahaya Bello was the biggest mistake ever. He knows for sure that in a thriving democracy, winning an election may tarry till eternity. Therefore, the coronation was the best route in achieving insatiable quests. But that said the least, Nigerians are divided over the just concluded political war in Kogi state.

While many wondered how Yahaya Bello emerged winner, others believed Kogi’s election was a grand theft of our democracy. Oh yes! Bello in cahoots with INEC and the police slaughtered democracy and the sanctity of rule of law. They have murdered our sleep but would sleep no more. Instead of good governance, they equip the agents of darkness among humans. And while the people’s voice was so loud at the polling units, his victory was decided by the INEC returning officer and Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Prof. Ibrahim Garuba.

It was such a brazing murder of democracy that has left everyone in jittery about the future of this great country, especially that University professors now rig elections for selfish politicians.

It was initially the state commissioner of police who in what described moonlight tales, assured the people of their safety.

Fellow Nigerians, in the presence of Busari’s men, voters were coerced against their wish, Youth corpers were abducted and forced to sign results. This is the genesis of our lost faith in the security architecture. I never believe they could allow themselves to be so induced. Not even the unprecedented synergy between fake and real police which aided the rigging and ballot snatching processes.

The rifles of lethality in the hands of these hoodlum was quite apprehensive by mere sight, and the police abetted their operation in polling units where voters seem repellant to their operations.

However, the Eastern and Western part of the state witnessed the mayhem majorly, and in the Central part of the state, APC shot themselves at heart with results from Okene LGA- total votes accorded was 150% higher than the total PVCs collected. Registered voters stood at 118, 543, total PVCs collected 48,065 and APC scored a total of 112, 543  against PDP’s 139. This is the same LGA where PDP presidential candidate got over 7000 votes in the just concluded presidential selection, sorry election. I wonder if the judiciary can uphold the hope of a common man to ask INEC how comes about the jumbo figures?

Can APC boldly account for the whereabouts of the 7000 PDP supporters whom the figure amassed for themselves show they are no more? Well, in a country where certificate is less important to the presidential office, the possibility of having the judiciary do the needful is roaming in the air. Not now that justice Bulkachuwa Zainab, president of Nigeria’s Court of appeal constitute the tribunal for Kogi Election.

Fellow Nigerians, our PVCs are now useless. It’s bestial effects defining a democratic society had been thrown to the dogs. If you are in Kogi state on the 16th of November 2019, you will understand that democracy under Buhari’s watch is in disarray, and with the manner in which some ruffians of accursed ancestory in conjunction with induced INEC and the Police exhumed orders.

Back to the central thrust. In the build up to Kogi guber polls, Yahaya Bello was seen commissioning concocted projects, he even attempted to steal Dino Melaye’s projects including a repainted mosque. He was so calm identifying with the people. Political gamblers cum beggars were assigned to beg on his behalf. And in what could be described as deciet, Bello remorsefully promised Kogites he will not fail if reelected, having learned from his past mistakes.

Unfortunately, the previous is still memorable and the people frowned at his reconciliatory messages. And having read the bold writing on the wall, they initiated a bank robbery style against the mandate. And having successfully taken it away from the rightful beneficiary and giving it to the enfant terrible, Yahaya Bello’s vote of thanks to Kogites was an outright refusal of some party faithful access to himself, denying to have owed workers a dime and twisting El-Rufai/Aisha Buhari’s reconciliatory message.

Please, where are these beggars? I want to throw questions to their conscience.

Fellow Nigerians, to win election in Kogi state, you must invest in thugs rather than economy. And instead of campaigning, you just need violence to erupt in key areas, you are good to. As a matter of fact, don’t just fritter money seeking legal redress over a stolen mandate, once it’s stolen, it’s stolen. You either return home or join the ruling party where sinners are made Saint. Only then, you can be hopeful because, without confession, your sins are washed away.

Would any man in his right senses think Yahaya Bello will contest let alone having an election rigged in his favor? But Buhari, Aba Kyari, Adams Oshiomole, El-Rufai, senate president Lawan and Aisha Buhari did. It was a laid egg that will hatch in 2023. As currently been rumored, Buhari may be vying for third term. And so, having all state for APC is sacrosanct.

But I prophesy, Nigeria would go to war by then. You know why? Buhari’s government remains disgusting in the heart of Nigerians, PDP on the other hands was robbed massively in the just concluded exercises. Hence, the ultimate question now is, would the opposition fold its hands and allow such grand theft in 2023? Will Nigerians endure the same hardship after 2023 considering agitations from the youths these days? And would APC known for instigating violent as means of securing electoral victory allow for credible election in view of the fact its integrity is diminishing daily?

The answer is also ravaged in the current move to silence the media with the proposed hate speech bill currently being deliberated upon by our lawbreakers, sorry, lawmakers. In short, their major political rival are not the opposition parties/candidates, it’s not the people whom they have failed, it is a vital component of democracy called media. That is a story for another day.

As things stood, the earlier Nigerians see that Lawan led lawmakers are just there for the bidding of the executive, the better for all of us.

Why did he come back remains the unanswered question in the lip of everyone, being a done-deal that Yahaya Bello’s first tenure was Kogites’ worst nightmare. Heaven alone knows what his return will bring upon the helpless people, especially, now that he neither need our votes nor has to steal project in order to compliment a self deceit efforts. Yet, my fear lies in Bello’s reward for his endorsers like Miyetti Allah cattle breeders association. Will his second term establish the proposed security threat otherwise known as cattle ranching in Kogi state? Remember, it was 95/5% for Buhari’s voters in 2015 where those who voted him massively were assured of impart of their votes.

God bless Kogi State.
