After the appalling acts of political violence unleashed against the people of Kogi East during the recently conducted elections, the Atta Igala and President of Kogi State Traditional Council, Dr Michael Idakwo Ameh Oboni 11 reportedly pronounced ancestral curses on sponsors of political violence in his domain.
Precisely, the Atta’s curse came after the bizarre activities of political desperadoes during the presidential and national assembly elections that resulted in lost of lives and properties.
The news of the royal curse was widely applauded by men and women of goodwill who were genuinely bothered by the desecration of Igala land by political neophytes who want to cling on to power at all costs. We expected the curse to swing into action immediately as we of old, particularly when the current Atta’s father reigned as Atta Igala. But is seems our Atta’s curse is still busy eating okpa and not in a hurry to go after the perpetrators of violence in Igala land.
While our Atta’s curse is busy eating delicious okpa, the gods of Ebiraland are not smiling at all. The gods of Ebira land are visibly angry with evil doers in the land who perpetrated violence before, during and after the recently conducted elections.
Barely one month after the blood-soaked elections, news broke out that one Ojo Inah has been knocked down by a mystery truck. The truck killed him.
The name Ojo Inah rang bell and one quickly recalled that the dead guy was alleged to have pull the trigger that killed one Ojo Enesi, a supporter of SDP senatorial candidate in the last election, Natasha Akpoti. Ojo Enesi was killed on 11th January 2019 in Ihima, Okehi local government area of Ebira land.
In a post by Natasha Akpoti, the knocked down Ojo Inah was also alleged to have been responsible for sporadic shooting of her supporters that left many with various degrees of injuries at Obeiba, Ihima during Okehi tour on 14th January.
Not done, another alleged political thug, Abdulrazak Idris has reportedly died of heart attack. Abdulrazak is believed to be the supplier of guns to the Administrator of Okehi, Abdulraheem Ohiare.
We won’t be surprised to hear more heart rending news from Ebira land in days to come as the rampaging anger of the gods move round the land.
As much as we are not celebrating these deaths, one is quick to warn dissident youths in Kogi State who have been armed and empowered to unleash political violence in the state to repent without further delay because the gods are angry!
We are still waiting for the manifestation of Atta Igala’s curse in Kogi East.
