Kogi state-born Dr. Salihu Adam Jiddah, a dedicated lecturer at the Federal University of Kashere, has been honored with the distinguished Graduate On Time (GOT) Award by Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) in recognition of his outstanding academic achievement and timely completion of his PhD program. This celebrated award recognizes excellence and perseverance among students who demonstrate unwavering commitment to their studies.
Beginning his doctoral journey at UUM in May 2022, supported by a competitive Tetfund international research grant, Dr. Jiddah exemplified exceptional resilience and determination. By December 2024, he successfully defended his thesis in a rigorous viva examination, earning him the coveted GOT Award for the year 2025, a testament to his scholarly discipline and drive.
Throughout his PhD tenure, Dr. Salihu Adam Jiddah published groundbreaking research in top-tier academic journals, including two highly regarded Q1 publications indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. His remarkable contributions to knowledge mark him as a rising intellectual force within the global academic community.
In recognition of his monumental achievement, UUM hosted a special ceremony in Kuala Lumpur celebrating Dr. Jiddah’s success. Though unable to attend in person, he was warmly honored via a live video call, where the university community showered him with heartfelt praise and best wishes.
Beyond academia, Dr. Jiddah is also the visionary founder of the Kogi Liberation Movement and the immediate past Chairperson of the Academic Staff Union of University FUK branch. These are testament to his leadership and commitment to transformative social progress. He hails from Okabo in Ofu Local Government Area, Kogi State, Nigeria.
