Those of you celebrating the victory of Dino Melaye: NO PROBLEM.
Yahaya Bello lost NOTHING. Some Okun people voted themselves out of “active” Development for the next 4 years on the ox of self pride.
You all think people voted Dino because of Dino? They voted him as a way of attacking Yahaya Bello. Can Dino really represent their interests?
People don’t understand that politics is not founded on morality or anger. It is a high powered tool of developmental negotiable.
Across the 3 Senatorial districts, Kogi Central returned an APC Senator and Three House of Reps. In Kogi East, APC returned a Senator and Three House of Reps. All APC.
In Kogi West where Dino comes from, PDP returned Dino, one House of Reps and an ADC candidate took of House of Reps. You see how divided? This division would lead to serious tussle for political supremacy because two political leaders cannot cohabit. How can this tussle make them live in focus to your interests?
That is besides the point. When you play politics of “protest” you lose out on many fronts because of the nature of Nigerian politics.
What is the party at the center? APC.
If a state is more aligned to the party in power, developmental negotiations are easy. OImagine all Kogi Senators and House of Reps members demanding for only one “consensus project” at NASS.
For our diversity, most political calculation is done based on who supports you most to retain your seat, they get Development in return because the truth is that Nigeria has no MASTERPLAN. Your American English and Masters in Foreign relations and social media wokeness means nothing.
Out of the 109 Senate seats, the APC has won 86, and the rest is divided between PDP and other mushroom parties.
You all knew Dino Melaye because of Saraki’s influence as the Senate President. Saraki has been booted out. He lost on all fours. Even a ministerial appointment , he wont get. For the next four years, EFCC would hound him for years of stealing.
Would Dino stand alone as he is Jack Sparrow in NASS to make noise? He would be exterminated into voicelessness. He would now begin to face the army of people he has offended who would come after him with all they’ve got as Saraki is no longer SP. This time, a broken neck, Ajekun Iya tracks and climbing of trees would not help him. Even his motley of social media “pepper dem gang” would desert him for a politically concentrated party.
What Committee would he even head? Say Ajekun Iya Committee?
He would be exterminated into voicelessness due to the number of APC members. As you also know, he has offended many people that are vindictive.
In fact, someone mentioned that FG took Saraki’s relection personal and left that of Dino so he can face what they call “political pains”.
If the elections were rigged and the Federal might was displayed, do you think Dino would cough? Would the UN he writes to send Copters to help him face the Nigerian state?
What about your sons and daughters in Government that you humiliated by not even allowing them win their polling booths? Simple. They may lose their portfolios to other senatorial districts that any administration, center and state would feel would align more to their interests.
All you would do is to wail. To just wail and raise social media hashtags whilst life moves on.
We’ve had challenges with Governance in kogi state, no legacy was left to guide anyone anyway Nobody came from heaven with any manual anyway.
However, things are getting BETTER. The roads. The schools. The health. In fact, the “Youth” participation in Governance is gaining consolidation.
Most of the people who also started the Government but without understanding of the vision of the Government has been booted out and now Into “political-opposition-philantropy”, but then, what difference has their departure made?
Make no mistakes, Dino Melaye is my Kogi blood. If he takes his character into refinement for the betterment of not just Kogi West but Kogi state, it would be for our collective gain. But can you trust any politician without integrity?
What if Dino Melaye decamps to APC tomorrow because of survival? Would you have made a good choice after losing out over again or you will still make protest votes to brandish your self righteousness of “we are enlightened” people?
Politics is strategy. All politics is local. All political reward is local..
You also think many people would come up to gang up against Removing Yahaya Bello in November? How far did the gang up on Buhari go? Oh, you think Bello would pause Governance, go to sleep and wait for your immobile thinking to become reality because in your head, everything remains the same because you’ve made a decision in your heart?
Yahaya Bello has delivered Kogi state for Buhari. He did so amidst the type of gang up theory you all said was put up against Dino Melaye but God came through for him.
It seems God only loves Dino, right? The fighter of your anger and emotional representation. I laugh. Wisdom is not cheap anyway.
Most Kogi roads (54) are under various categories of completion, from 60% above. When they get completed, people would see Bello from your Abuja lenses or the social media concentrated Igbo hate? Or those who were once beneficiaries of his benevolent government who are now going inbox to erect a cyber mob against the Government that made them who they are today? God is not a one way traffic na. He is for everyone. He is also a tragic God with high level of traffic to wicked people.
Would APC NWC just forget the sacrifices of Bello nationally and statewide because of your social media opinions?
Would all the APC Senate, reps and House members that Bello and his team worked tremendously to install in power just desert Bello over night?
Go to Kogi East, Edward Onoja, right hand comrade and political twin of Bello worked without sleep and food to install people whose political destinies have been written off completely. They would just wake up and desert him for your emotions? The same you would criticize them for not having integrity and character.
