Still basking in the euphoria of the successful hosting of the Kogi International Carnival last week, one of the conveners, Prince Phillip Orebiyi, says the next edition will be bigger.
Speaking on this week’s edition of State of Kogi, a Radio Kogi Audience Participatory Programme, Orebiyi said the next carnival will attract over 7 million fun seekers from across the world to the state.
Orebiyi, who is the General Manager, Kogi Hotels and Tourism Board, identified timing as a challenge in organising the maiden event, but assured that work has already commenced for the next edition.
According to him, the present administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is ready to develop the culture and tourism sector, saying the carnival is a platform for engaging youths in profitable ventures.
He called on corporate bodies and well to do individuals to support the carnival in a bid to keep the youths busy and make the state a destination for tourists.
The General Manager urged owners of hotels to up their games as the state is now open to international investors, saying their services will speak on the image of the state.
